About Us
Page Street’s staff is proudly full of book people. We are readers, bookstore junkies, publishing degree grads, and former bookstore employees who believe in the strength and value of the written word. We love creating amazing content that will add to people’s lives, the way books have added to each of ours. Editorially, we focus our attention on working collaboratively with authors to use our publishing experience side-by-side with our authors' passions to develop books that don’t just bend to market trends, but inspire them.
We believe that a book needs to be a reflection of the aesthetics and personality of each author to elevate their high-quality content and creative talents and create a significant point of difference for the audience. Our goal is to make each book personal, human, and a joy to experience.
Our list is nicely varied and reflects the diversity in our staff as well as our authors. Our YA list, which has grown significantly, stands out because of the rich, wide range of characters and settings, including sapphic lovers, transgender heroes, and other non-traditional leads set before different backdrops. From fantasy titles like Woven in Moonlight, which was listed in Time Magazine’s 100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time list, to YA horror like The Gathering Dark, which was on the Indie Bestseller's List for six weeks, to Unboxing of a Black Girl, a unique memoir of sorts written in very accessible prose that was a finalist for a National Book Award. The overarching theme is page-turning fiction featuring surprising plots that address the bigger issues of every human’s condition—and even some aliens—and the moving character arcs that leave an indelible impression on readers.
Our illustrated nonfiction list continues to thrive. It is led by our cooking and crafting titles, everything from our perennial bestseller, Artisan Sourdough Made Simple and Sourdough Every Day, to our recent bestselling Peculiar Baking, with a gold stamped leatherette cover and gilded edges that looks like it came out of the Hogwarts library. We might have accidentally become the top, if not one of the top publishers of watercoloring books, just by believing in great design and content as well as proper editing, proofing, and indexing.
The strength of our authors and their content is the beating heart of the company. Our foundation consists of books with high-quality information from experts in their fields—thoughtfully edited and designed—then printed on premium paper with top-tier color reproduction. For each project, we carefully select a standout photographer. Whether it is one from our regular freelance crew or an author-photographer, each photo needs to inspire and excite the reader.
Our drive is to make great books that we, as book lovers, love. We hope you enjoy the books, too.
